WSA offers DBS checks at affordable rates

CIMSPA is pleased to announce a new partnership with the Welsh Sports Association. As part of our partnership, we want to highlight the organisation’s Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks through the WSA’s trusted safeguarding service.

CIMSPA members and partners can access DBS checks from just £21.50 for a standard check or £16 for an update. With admin fees starting at only £3.50, the service is ensuring that organisations and professionals across the sport, fitness and physical activity sector can maintain the highest standards of safety and compliance at a lower cost.

A trusted safeguarding partner

The WSA is recognised for its expertise in governance support for sport and leisure organisations. Its DBS service has been specifically designed to meet the needs of the sector, offering a streamlined and secure way to process checks for individuals and employers.

By partnering with WSA, CIMSPA is making it easier than ever for professionals and organisations to access a reliable, cost-effective DBS service that understands the unique needs of our sector. This includes support for both paid staff and volunteers as well as options for standard and enhanced checks, depending on the role requirements.

Available in England and Wales

While WSA is based in Wales, this new benefit is open to all CIMSPA members and partners operating in England and Wales. So, whether you’re in Cardiff or Cambridge, you can take advantage of the same high-quality, discounted service.

This partnership ensures that every organisation, regardless of location or size, can continue to put safeguarding at the heart of their work, protecting participants, clients and staff while maintaining confidence and trust across the sector.

Making safeguarding easier

Maintaining up-to-date DBS checks is a vital part of professional and organisational practice in the sport and physical activity sector. Through the WSA, CIMSPA members and partners gain access to:

  • affordable rates on DBS checks
  • expert support from WSA’s safeguarding specialists
  • simple, digital application processes
  • peace of mind knowing your checks meet industry standards.

“Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility, and ensuring that professionals and organisations have easy, affordable access to DBS checks is a key part of that,” said Clare Dunn, Associate Director of Engagement at CIMSPA.

“We’re delighted to partner with WSA to make this trusted service available to our members and partners in England as well as Wales. It’s another practical way we’re helping the workforce uphold the highest standards of safety and professionalism.”

This partnership marks another step forward in CIMSPA’s ongoing work to support professional standards, reduce administrative barriers and strengthen safeguarding across the workforce.
